Today (June 23rd) marks the thirtieth anniversary of the self-titled fourteenth studio album from Rod Stewart, known also as Every Beat of My Heart. This 1986 record went to number 28 in Japan, number 16 in Australia, number 13 in the Netherlands, number 12 in Norway, number 9 in Canada, number 5 in the UK, number 4 in Germany, and number 3 in Sweden. Here in the US, it spent nineteen weeks on the Billboard Album chart with a top spot of number 28.

Rod Stewart - Foolish Behaviour

Today (November 21st) marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of Foolish Behaviour, the tenth studio album from Rod Stewart. This 1980 release spent twenty-one weeks on the US Billboard Album chart, peaking at number 12. It also charted at number 23 in Germany, 21 in Canada, number 19 in Japan, number 12 in Norway, number 9 in Australia, number 8 in the Netherlands, number 4 in the UK, and number 3 in New Zealand and Sweden.

The 1984 release charted at number 34 in Australia, number 31 in Canada, number 17 in Japan, number 16 in Norway, number 13 in the Netherlands, number 8 in the UK, number 7 in Sweden, and number 6 in Germany. Here in the US, it spent thirty-five weeks on the Billboard Album chart and peaked at number 18.

This week (June 10th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of Body Wishes, the twelfth studio album from Rod Stewart. It charted at number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 200, number 19 in Japan, number 15 in Canada, number 14 in Australia, number 6 in the Netherlands, number 5 in the UK, number 3 in Sweden and number 2 in Germany. The cover was a homage of Elvis Presley’s 1959 album 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can’t Be Wrong.

Night Shift (soundtrack)

Welcome to another edition of Soundtrack Sunday.

Thirty years ago this month, the Ron Howard directed comedy about a former stock-broker (played by Henry Winkler) who is forced to take a job in a New York City morgue. There he is partnered on the night shift with a wildly exuberant co-worker (played by Michael Keaton). Together, along with a struggling prostitute (played by Shelley Long), they turn that morgue upside down.
