Donna Summer - Cats Without Claws

This month marks the thirtieth anniversary of Cats Without Claws, the twelfth studio album from Donna Summer. This 1984 release went to number 91 in Australia, number 84 in Canada, number 69 in the UK, number 39 in Germany, number 19 in the Netherlands, number 15 in Norway and number 10 in Sweden. Here in the US, it spent seventeen weeks on the Billboard Album chart with a top spot of 40, and it also went to number 24 on the Billboard R&B chart.

Rod Stewart - Camouflage

Today (June 18th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of Camouflage, the thirteenth studio album from Rod Stewart. The 1984 release charted at number 34 in Australia, number 31 in Canada, number 17 in Japan, number 16 in Norway, number 13 in the Netherlands, number 8 in the UK, number 7 in Sweden, and number 6 in Germany. Here in the US, it spent thirty-five weeks on the Billboard Album chart and peaked at number 18.

Donna Summer - She Works Hard For the Money

Ready to bounce back after 1982’s self-titled Donna Summer (click here for that review), the R&B singer released She Works Hard For the Money on this date (June 13th) in 1983. This eleventh studio album for Summer went to number 28 in the UK, number 27 in Japan, number 14 in Germany, number 12 in Norway, number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 200, and number 8 in Sweden.

Christopher Cross - Another Page

After his phenomenal hit selling, self-titled debut record from 1979 (click here for that review) and a number 1 hit song with the title theme from the 1981 film Arthur, Christopher Cross had a lot riding on his follow up album. Today (January 31st) marks the thirtieth anniversary of the release of Another Page, his second studio album.

The record went Gold in both the US and the UK. Chart-wise, it climbed all the way to number 12 in Sweden, number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 200, number 9 in New Zealand, number 7 in the Netherlands, number 6 in Australia, number 4 in the UK, number 2 in Germany and number 1 in Japan.
