Men at Work - Two Hearts

Today (April 23) marked the thirtieth anniversary of Two Hearts, the third and final studio album of the 80's for Men At Work. The album spent thirteen weeks on the US Billboard Album chart, peaking at number 50. It also went to number 37 in Sweden and number 16 in Australia.

Following their multi-Platinum selling 1981 debut album Business As Usual, the Australian rock band Men at Work returned to the studios to work on their follow-up album. What resulted was 1983’s Cargo which is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this month. This one too went multi-Platinum worldwide, charting at number 8 in Sweden and the UK, number 4 in Norway, number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 200, number 2 in New Zealand, and number 1 in Australia.

Men At Work - Business As Usual (30th anniversary)

Today (April 22nd) marks the 30th anniversary of the US release of Business As Usual, the 1982 debut album from the Australian band Men At Work. The album debuted in their native Australia on November 9th of 1981.

Sadly, this week Greg Ham (who played flute, keyboards and saxophone on the album) was found dead in his Melbourne home on April 19th, 2012.

Men at Work - Business as Usual

One of the best selling albums of 1982 was the debut album Business as Usual by the Australian band Men at Work. The record went multi-platinum in four countries (Australia, Canada, the UK and the US) and went to all the way to the top of the charts to number 1 in five countries (Australia for nine weeks, New Zealand, Norway, the UK for five weeks and the US for fifteen weeks). It also earned Men at Work the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1983 (beating out Asia, the Human League and the Stray Cats).
