Today (May 17th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of You've Got a Good Love Comin', the third studio album from Lee Greenwood. It spent twenty weeks on the US Billboard Album chart, peaking at number 150. It also went to number 15 on the Canadian Country chart and number 6 on the US Billboard Country chart.
Side one begins with "You've Got a Good Love Comin'", the third single. It went to number 9 on the US Billboard Country chart and number 6 on the Canadian Country chart. The song has a nice crossover sound to it; I am surprised it did not show up on the pop charts back in 1984.
"(I Found) Love in Time" is the next track.
On "I Don't Want to Wake You", a man watches the woman he loves as she sleeps peacefully.
"Love Me Like I'm Leavin' Tonight" and "Worth It for the Ride", the B-side to the second single, follow to finish off the first half.
Side two starts with "Two Heart Serenade".
The second single "Fool's Gold", went to number 5 on the Canadian Country chart and number 3 on the US Billboard Country chart. In this piano-based ballad, a man admits he made mistakes that cost him his marriage.
"Lean, Mean, Lovin' Machine" and "Even Love Can't Save Us Now", the B-side to the third single, are next.
"God Bless the U.S.A.", the closing track, was released as the first single. It went to number 26 on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and number 7 on the US Billboard Country chart. Re-released again in 2001 after the events of September 11th, it went to number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 16 on the US Billboard Country chart and number 12 on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
You’ve Got a Good Love Comin’ is a pretty rare record. According to my findings, it only was released on vinyl and cassette back in 1984. Even a search up on YouTube only yielded a few tracks for review. What I heard I liked.
