This week (October 22nd) marks the thirtieth anniversary of Who’s Afraid of the Art of Noise?, the first full-length studio album from the English group the Art of Noise. It charted at number 35 in New Zealand, number 30 in the Netherlands and number 27 in the UK. Here in the US, it spent thirteen weeks on the Billboard Album chart with a top spot of number 85.

Big Country - Steeltown

Today (October 19th) is the thirtieth anniversary of Steeltown, the second studio album from Big Country. Around the globe, it went to number 53 in Canada and Germany, number 33 in the Netherlands, number 28 in Sweden, number 15 in New Zealand, number 12 in Norway, and number 1 in the UK. Here in the US, it spent seventeen weeks on the Billboard Album chart, peaking at number 70.

Prince - Prince (35th anniversary)

Today (October 19th) marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of the self-titled second studio album from Prince. The record spent twenty-eight weeks on the US Billboard Album chart, peaking at number 22.

Earlier this week (October 15th) marked the thirtieth anniversary of Contact, the follow-up album to the 1983 self-titled debut EP (click here for that review) from Dreamboy. It would also end up being the final recording by the Michigan band at the time.

The album charted at number 49 in Sweden, number 27 in New Zealand, number 9 in the Netherlands, and number 3 in the UK. Here in the US, it spent twenty-six weeks on the Billboard Album chart with a top spot of 60.
