Meat Loaf - Bad Attitude

This month marks the thirtieth anniversary of the European release of Bad Attitude, the fourth studio album from Meat Loaf. It went to number 42 in Australia, number 36 in Sweden, number 24 in Germany and number 8 in the UK. When it was released in the US in 1985, it spent ten weeks on the Billboard Album chart with a top spot of number 74. The same nine tracks appeared on both versions of the album; for today’s review I will look at it from the US ordering.

The Who - It's Hard (30th anniversary)

Today (September 4th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of It's Hard, the tenth studio album by the British rock giants - the Who.

For my full review of this album, click here.

While it wasn't in 1982, I did have the pleasure to see the Who perform live on one of their many farewell tours in the late 80's. This was for their 1989 tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Kids Are Alright; I bought my older brother a ticket to the Raleigh show for his birthday that year. No denying that they put on an awesome live show.

The Who - It's Hard

On September 4th of 1982, the Who released their tenth studio album and the last one with bassist John Entwistle and drummer Kenney Jones. Entwistle even penned three of the record’s tracks. This would be the band’s last album of new material until 2006. Eventually certified Gold, It’s Hard went to number 11 on the UK album charts, number 8 in the US and number 3 in Canada.

For all of you old school video game geeks, the album cover features a young boy playing Atari’s Space Duel arcade game.

The Who - Who's Next

Taking a jump back to 1971(40 years!!!) to a classic in every sense of the word - Who's Next by the Who. It was the fifth album by the classic Brit quartet of Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon. This album appears on the "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" list as well as ranked number 28 in Rolling Stone's "500 Best Albums of All-Time" list and number 13 on the VH-1 countdown of greatest albums ever.
