Heart - Dreamboat Annie

Today (February 14th) marks the fortieth anniversary of the world-wide release of Dreamboat Annie, the debut album from Heart. This followed the debut in the band's native Canada from late in the summer of 1975, where it went all the way to number 20. The Platinum selling 1976 release hit number 36 in the UK, number 9 in Australia and number 7 on the US Billboard Album chart (with a total chart run of one hundred weeks).

Heart - Bebe le Strange

This weekend (February 14th) marked the thirty fifth anniversary of Bebe le Strange, the fifth studio album from Heart. This 1980 release hit number 78 in Australia and number 5 on the US Billboard Album chart. It spent twenty-two weeks total on the latter chart.

Nona Hendryx - Nona

Before moving off to a solo career, Nona Hendryx was one third of the R&B girl-group Labelle. In the mid-1970’s she went solo and released a number of records. One of them, 1983’s Nona celebrated its thirtieth anniversary back in March of this year. Her second solo studio album, it climbed to number 83 on the US Billboard Album chart and number 25 on the US Billboard R&B chart.

Heart - Passionworks

Today (August 20th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of Passionworks, the seventh studio album by the rocking Wilson sisters (Ann and Nancy) of Heart. This 1983 release, which spent twenty one weeks on the US Billboard 200 Album chart where it peaked at number 39, saw a shift in the band’s sound to a more mainstream rock direction. It was also the first album to include Denny Carmassi (drums) and Mark Andes (bass and backing vocals).

Heart - Magazine

Today (April 22nd) marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of the release of Magazine, the fourth studio album by the rock band Heart. The album actually had an unauthorized original mix put out in 1977 by their first label Mushroom Records; Ann and Nancy Wilson recovered the rights to the record and reworked it for an official release a year later.

Heart - Private Audition

June 5th marks the 30th anniversary of Private Audition, the sixth studio album by the American rock band Heart. At the time, the group was made up of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, Howard Leese (guitar, synthesizer and more), Steve Fossen (bass) and Michael DeRosier (drums).

Although it spent fourteen weeks on the charts and reached number 25 on the US Billboard Hot 200, it was the first album from the band that failed to achieve Platinum sales status. It also went to number 21 in Canada and number 77 in the UK.
