Squeeze - Argybargy

This month marks the thirty fifth anniversary of Argybargy, the third studio album from Squeeze. It peaked at number 71 on the US Billboard Album chart (with a total run on the chart of twenty-four weeks), number 32 in the UK and number 26 in Canada.

Squeeze - Cool for Cats

Welcome to another edition of Seventies Sunday.

Today (March 9th) marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of Cool for Cats, the second studio album from Squeeze. This 1979 release went to number 45 on the UK charts and achieved Gold sales status in that country.

Graham Parker - The Real Macaw

After a number of years performing as Graham Parker and the Rumour, the British singer-songwriter went solo in the early 80’s. This month marks the thirtieth anniversary of The Real Macaw, his second solo studio album from 1983. While it failed to chart in the UK, it did reach number 59 on the US Billboard Hot 200.

Squeeze - Sweets from a Stranger

This month marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Sweets From a Stranger, the fifth studio album by the UK band Squeeze. The album went to number 20 in their native UK, number 26 in Canada and number 32 on the US Billboard Hot 200 album charts. All of the tracks were written by Chris Difford (guitars and vocals) and Glenn Tilbrook (guitars, keyboards and vocals). The band split up for awhile after the world tour to promote the album, re-uniting again in 1985.
