This is her seventh book in the Quinn and Costa thriller series. This was my first dip into the series, and I really felt like I was switching on a police drama mid-season. The first couple chapters almost seemed like the tail-end of a case rather than the start. It was different and off-putting. I found this actually worked the further I got into the book.
Of course, the meat of the story quickly is established: where are Matt and Kate and how will they get out of this deathtrap-filled place? I felt the momentum slowed when the point-of-view shifted off of them and back to their colleagues investigating and to the villainous party behind all of this. I did, however, appreciate, as the reader, knowing more of what was going on than any of the groups involved.
