TV: Charlie's Angels (2011, ep. 7)

This week was the airing of the final episode of Charlie's Angels. And that's a shame because this one, "Royal Angels", was probably one of the more tightly written episodes of the bunch. It had a believable, relatable plot that was well executed. No over the top stuff, no hard-to-believe elements. Just a straight-forward investigative episode.

Bummer.

Let's break it down for one final time...

TV: Charlie's Angels (2011, ep. 6)

The ratings on dead-show-walking Charlie’s Angels has stayed consistent with the last episode (5.57 million viewers for episode 5, 5.31 million viewers for episode 6). I guess there are plenty of people like me who want to see how it all comes to an end.

This week's episode is "Black Hat Angels", written by Douglas Petrie who wrote episode three. The episode opens with the police in pursuit of a man on foot who they then arrest. Turns out the arrested party is Bosely who says he has been framed. Cue the theme music...

TV: Charlie's Angels (2011, ep. 5)

As I noted last week, the axe fell on Charlie’s Angels with the network pulling the plug on production. No surprise really. From the debut episode with 8.76 million viewers, the show was down to 5.57 million viewers this week. It had lost another .34 million over the previous week.

Let's take a look at this week's episode entitled "Angels in Paradise" It was written by the same team that penned the first two episodes (Alfred Gough and Miles Millar) and directed by the same man as the first and fourth episodes (Marcos Siega).

Week three of the new Charlie’s Angels debuted this week with an episode called "Angels in Chains". As I noted previously on my blog, this was an episode I was looking forward to seeing as the original 1970's show features a memorable episode by the same title during season 1 of that show (it was episode 5). How did the new one compare?

TV: Charlie's Angels (2011, ep. 1)

This past week, the ABC network debuted a new series with a very familiar name - Charlie’s Angels. The new series stars Annie Ilonzeh (Kate), Minka Kelly (Eve), Rachael Taylor (Abby), Ramon Rodriguez (Bosley) and Victor Garber (as the voice of Charlie). The three women and Bosley work for a boss they've never met at the Townsend Detective agency. Sounds familiar? It should.

But this is not your father's Charlie's Angels.
