Today (June 29th) marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of the self-titled debut album from Kim Wilde. Kim Wilde went Gold in the UK after reaching number 3 on those charts and Gold in Germany after reaching number 1. Here in the US, it spent twenty-two weeks on the Billboard Album chart, peaking at number 86.

Kim Wilde - Teases & Dares

This week (November 12th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of Teases & Dares, the fourth studio album from Kim Wilde. It charted at number 66 in the UK, number 35 in Sweden, number 24 in Finland, number 22 in Germany and number 10 in Switzerland. Here in the US, it spent ten weeks total on the Billboard Album chart with a peak spot of number 84.

Kim Wilde - Catch As Catch Can

Today (October 24th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of Catch as Catch Can, the third studio album from Kim Wilde. The record charted at number 97 in Australia, number 90 in the UK, number 35 in the Netherlands, number 23 in Germany, number 17 in Sweden, and number 6 in France and Switzerland.

Happy birthday to English pop singer/author Kim Wilde who today, November 18th, celebrates her fifty-first birthday.

In the summer of 1981, she released her self-titled debut album Kim Wilde on the RAK record label in the UK. All of the songs were written by Kim's father Marty Wilde and her brother Ricky; she was backed by the UK symphonic rock band names the Enid. The record went Gold in the UK after reaching number 3 on those charts and Gold in Germany after reaching number 1. It also generated a trio of singles that did well in many countries across the globe.
