Today (February 11th) marks the thirtieth anniversary of N.E.W.S., the seventeenth studio album from Golden Earring. This one peaked at number 107 on the US Billboard Album chart, yet it went all the way to number 1 in the Netherlands from where the band hailed.

Happy sixty-fourth birthday today (August 16th) to Barry Hay, the Dutch born singer and front man for Golden Earring.

This month marks the thirtieth anniversary of Cut, the group's sixteenth studio album. This summer of 1982 release climbed all the way to number 24 on the US Billboard Hot 200; in the Netherlands it became their fifth studio album to reach the number 1 spot on the charts.
